Tender Care Animal Hospital in Peoria, Illinois is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable Dog Trainer to join our growing team! Our training program focuses on positive reinforcement, confidence building, and practical skills that set puppies and adult dogs up for lifelong success. With puppy classes offered multiple times a day, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of breeds, temperaments, and experience levels in a dynamic, supportive environment. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, client education, and the connection between behavior and overall pet wellness. If you are patient, energetic, and committed to modern, humane training methods, we would love to meet you. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, Monday-Sunday. Full-time benefits and compensation**: Compensation: $15 per hour, for each hour worked* 50% commission on training sessions executed, minus wages earned. Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k options Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Minimum qualifications and skill set: Minimum 2+ years of professional dog training experience Proficiency in the following skills: Strong knowledge of positive reinforcement and fear-free training methods Experience teaching group puppy classes, CPDT-KA or equivalent certification a plus!
