Laboratory Technician I

The Laboratory Technician I (LT-I) is responsible for the performance of patient testing. The LT-I ensures that alllaboratory procedures are conducted in compliance with COLA/CLIA regulations and works under the supervisionof the Technical Supervisor and General Supervisor. The LT-I follows and maintains knowledge of all laboratoryprocedures, excellent communication with all personnel, and fulfills other tasks as instructed.Essential FunctionsEnsure the confidentiality of patient information throughout all phases of laboratory testing.Performs sample preparations for screening and confirmation testingMaintain lab established turnaround time.Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and quality requirementsProperly record results for further analysis and easy referenceMonitor inventory samples and suppliesMaintain a clean work environmentPerform and document all laboratory logsIdentify problems that may adversely affect patient test resultsPerform proficiency testing and/or split sample analysis periodically as outlined by laboratory protocol.Perform all quality assessment as assignedRetain record of all analytical activities performed for a minimum of 2 years.Monitor reagent, standard and quality control expiration dateWork under the supervision of a laboratory technologistParticipate in continuing educationFollow all company policies and procedures to ensure quality controlGood attendance is expected of all employees as a normal condition of workOther duties as requestedCompetenciesMaintain strict adherence to Standard operating procedure.Laboratory Information System softwareSample preparation for testingPipetting skillsFamiliarity with common lab terminologyStrong verbal, written and organizational skillsAttention to detail; commitment to accuracyAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingCapable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product qualityDesire to work hard and meet laboratory expectations; positive attitudeRespect to coworker and managementWilling to meet on-call obligations as neededEducational RequirementsAssociate of Science or Medical Technology degree from an accredited college or university.Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry from an accredited college or university requiredQualificationsExperience in high complexity testing including sample preparation, screening and confirmation testing requiredExperience with pipetting techniques requiredCompensation$18 - $20/hour, based on experience#hrmdtpp #J-18808-Ljbffr HRMD/Texas Pain Physicians
