Details Work on a 29-bed Surgical Stepdown unit Care for post-op patients including high acuity surgeries, lower acuity surgical patients requiring cardiac drips or BiPAP, trauma, and high acuity medical cases Patient ratio of 1:5/6 Uses Epic EMR Every other weekend required May float as needed to similar or lower acuity units No call requirements Requirements Current LPN license required if applicable, meeting Missouri licensure eligibility or current Missouri license BLS certification from AHA required IV certification required Minimum 1 year of stepdown experience in an acute care hospital required Proof of flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1; declinations not accepted Must be able to stand and walk most of the shift, with frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance Must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally High risk exposure to blood and body fluids Additional Information Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize comfort and outcomes Maintain professional accountability and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information Function within scope of nursing practice per Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and team-oriented personality preferred Black scrubs required; attire must meet facility dress code standards RTO of 5 days or less allowed, must be made up during the assignment Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment Local candidates accepted within 50 miles, though bill rate will be reduced Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
