Veterinary Hospital Manager

Mission Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager who brings together operational excellence, strong clinical knowledge, a talent for mentorship, and a commitment to team culture. The role is a working leadership position best suited for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or an experienced Veterinary Assistant with demonstrated leadership experience. The Manager will oversee hospital operations, actively support the medical team, and assist with patient care as needed. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Team Support: Serve as a resource for the medical team, assist with patient care and treatment workflows as needed, support training and development of clinical staff, and maintain high standards of medical care throughout the hospital. Financial Leadership: Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets, oversee payroll and financial operations, and drive business growth through data‑informed decisions. Operational Oversight: Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures. Strategic Direction: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute long‑term goals, expand services, and support referral and business partnerships. Project & Facility Management: Lead day‑to‑day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives. Client & Community Engagement: Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance the client experience, and foster retention and growth. Team Leadership: Manage and support hospital team members across all departments, partner with veterinarians and department leaders to ensure accountability, operational consistency and effective communication; oversee hiring, development, staffing levels, performance management, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Schedule, Benefits & Compensation Compensation: $85-95k annual base salary* Bi‑annual bonus opportunities: Based on hospital performance Hiring bonus package: Up to $2000 based on experience and credentials CE allowance: up to $1,000 based on credentials Health, dental, and vision coverage with HSA option and choice of United Healthcare and Kaiser Permanente Life insurance, disability, and 401(k) options Employee Assistance Program Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Qualifications Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred, or experienced Veterinary Assistant with demonstrated leadership experience required. 3+ years of veterinary leadership experience, including supervision, training, scheduling, and performance management. Strong understanding of veterinary hospital operations and clinical workflows. Ability to effectively partner with veterinarians, department leads, and support staff to drive accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. Experience with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee development. Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, inventory management, payroll, or hospital performance metrics. Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness and ability to support hospital operations and assist the medical team as needed.
