About the Position Blase Trucking is seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support our day-to-day livestock trucking and dispatch operations in Grand Island, Nebraska. This position plays an important role in keeping drivers, trucks, trailers, loads, maintenance, and required paperwork organized and moving efficiently. The Logistics Coordinator will maintain regular communication with drivers, assist with dispatching, track equipment and load information, coordinate maintenance, and help ensure required DOT documentation and records remain current. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can stay organized while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced trucking environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain consistent communication with drivers regarding loads, schedules, locations, delays, equipment issues, and other operational needs. Prepare and send dispatch messages with accurate load, pickup, delivery, and routing information. Monitor driver progress and follow up on pickup and delivery status throughout the day. Log and maintain driver pin drops and location information as required. Record, update, and maintain load rates and related dispatch information. Maintain an accurate inventory of company trucks and trailers, including equipment numbers, assignments, locations, and status. Maintain service and maintenance logs for trucks and trailers. Monitor upcoming preventative maintenance and service needs. Schedule truck and trailer maintenance and repairs with the shop and coordinate scheduling with drivers to minimize downtime. Follow up on equipment that is out of service and maintain accurate records of repair status. Maintain required DOT paperwork, records, and documentation and assist with keeping company and driver files current. Monitor expiration dates and renewal requirements for applicable permits, registrations, inspections, and other required documentation. Assist with driver paperwork, trip documents, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and other load-related records. Enter and maintain accurate load and dispatch information in company systems and records. Assist with scheduling pickups and deliveries and communicate appointment information to drivers. Communicate with customers, brokers, drivers, and other parties regarding load status when needed. Help resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, equipment problems, and other issues that arise during daily operations. Assist with finding solutions when loads, drivers, trucks, or trailers need to be reassigned. Maintain organized records of completed and active loads. Assist with tracking detention, layovers, additional charges, and other load-related information when applicable. Help ensure drivers have the information and paperwork necessary to complete their assigned loads. Coordinate with management, drivers, and the maintenance shop to keep daily operations running efficiently. Perform other dispatch, logistics, administrative, and operational duties as needed. Work Schedule Primarily Monday through Friday Some weekend availability and assistance may be required based on operational needs Because livestock transportation operates around the clock, flexibility is important when unexpected driver, load, or equipment issues arise Qualifications The successful candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills and be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change throughout the day. Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, dispatching, fleet management, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with DOT requirements and trucking paperwork is also beneficial. Candidates should be comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, dispatch software, and other office systems. Strong attention to detail is especially important because this position is responsible for maintaining accurate operational and compliance records.
