Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support the surgical team in performing invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, as well as ensuring quality patient care throughout the surgical process.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will facilitate surgeons during procedures by handling instruments and monitoring the sterile field. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify the surgical procedure to be performed with consent forms and escort the patient to the assigned operating room.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures and anticipate additional supply needs.
• Conduct appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before closing incisions.
• Prepare sterile dressings and secure them after incision closure.
• Check supplies and equipment required for surgical procedures.
• Obtain and set up necessary sterile and unsterile items for the procedure.
• Assist in draping the sterile field and maintaining proper sterilization of instruments.
• Help clean and prepare the surgical room for the next patient after turnover.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology is required.
• Relevant acute care experience is preferred.
• National certification from the Board of Surgical Technologists or the Association of Surgical Technologists is preferred.
• Current CPR or BLS certification from an approved vendor is preferred.

Work Environment

The Surgical Technologist position may require working three 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic and fast-paced work environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
