Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Ketchikan, Alaska.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/19/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 19, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AK RN licensure.Details\n \n Labor and Delivery unit setting\n Night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-7:00)\n Patient ratio of 1:2\n Equitable weekend shift rotation required\n Floating required 0-3 times per month within OB as helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA type work\n Requirements\n \n Active AK RN license required\n Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required; LDRP experience preferred\n Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP\n AWHONN Advanced certification preferred\n EFM certification through intermediate AWHONN or Relias/Gnosis accepted\n Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management\n Experience administering medications such as antihypertensives, antiseizure drugs, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline\n Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, cord sample collection, and use of radiant warmers\n Newborn care skills including circumcision assistance, cord care, discharge teaching, and newborn assessment\n Antepartum care skills including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage\n Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration\n Any charting system experience required\n Epic experience preferred (1 year)\n Two supervisor references from the past 2 years required for consideration\n SSN and DOB required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care in a collaborative, interdisciplinary care team environment\n Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs, documenting according to established standards\n Direct and delegate care to team members based on education, credentials, and competence\n Participate in unit policy development, procedure maintenance, and quality improvement initiatives\n Royal blue scrub color required\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Pending AK license applicants accepted, though start date may be delayed while licensure is processed\n Local candidates not accepted; candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility\n Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler\n Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration\n RTO must be disclosed and approved prior to contract signing, with no additional RTO approved after signing\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751223.
