Overview Position Type: Athletics/Activities/Head Coach Date Posted: 3/24/2026 Location: Todd Beamer High School Date Available: Winter 2026 Closing Date: Upon Hire Hours per Day: 2.0 Hours/Day, Athletic Stipend Range: $3,294-$4,379 DOE Days of the Week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Shift Times: Practices & Competitions typically between 2:30-6:30 pm for approximately 2 hours M-F (Post-season may be F-S) Note: This section summarizes the role and scheduling expectations for a high school head coach. Key Responsibilities Program Organization. Hold daily practices and work with the building athletic director to organize and schedule practice sessions. Determine the system of play to be used on all teams within the program. Standard of Care. Provide safety training relative to the sport to all participants and assistant coaches. Emphasize safety precautions and maintain records of safety-related instruction. Have a working knowledge of basic athletic training skills and procedures; perform basic taping and first aid functions. Professionalism. Exercise good judgment and project positive coaching behaviors. Contribute to student athletes’ development, leadership, teamwork, and positive character. Maintain an even keel, calm, and fair-minded approach. Sportsmanship and Ethics. Model ethical behavior and good citizenship; promote sportsmanship and humility at all times. Supervision. Responsible for participants from the time they report until the time they leave. Rules/Regulations Presentation. Explain eligibility requirements, participation rules, and the District Eligibility Code to participants early in the season. Attention to Eligibility Rules. Ensure each participant completes eligibility processes before practice participation. Accident/Injury Procedure. Call 911 for serious injuries, file Accident Reports within 24 hours, and promptly report emergencies to the appropriate athletic directors. Media Contact. Report scores promptly and accurately to local media and league websites; maintain overall responsibility for reporting after each contest. Meeting Attendance. Attend building, district, league, and rules clinic meetings as scheduled and required by district regulations. Post-Season Awards Gathering. Coordinate with building athletic director to plan post-season recognition events. Scheduling. Provide scheduling recommendations; do not schedule own contests except for designated make-up contests due to weather as outlined in procedures. Facility and Equipment. Monitor facility conditions, report safety concerns, and manage equipment and facilities used by the program. Violations and Ejections Procedure. Report violations/ejections to appropriate administrators after contests. Program Cuts and Awards Criteria. Develop criteria for program cuts and awards; ensure pre-approval and proper communication with participants and guardians. Seasonal Summary and Evaluation. Attend post-season evaluation meetings and present a program inventory. Head Coach as Program Leader. Meet regularly with assistants to set expectations and coordinate goals; submit annual program goals and expectations. Camps and Clinics. Seek advance approval for camp/clinic programs involving FFPS players, coaches, or facilities. Travel. Seek advance approval for travel; ensure compliance with policy and minimize school time lost. Financial and Equipment. Oversee equipment, supplies, and inventory; complete annual inventory; manage checkout/return of gear; maintain records and finances related to the program. Annual Budget and Fundraising. Prepare annual budget requests with current inventory; obtain approval for fundraising activities per district guidelines. Other Related Duties. Perform duties as assigned to ensure effective program operation and student learning objectives. Position Summary High school head coaches oversee the growth and development of student athletes by focusing on fundamental skills with emphasis on academic and athletic excellence, leadership, and positive social relationships. Age Note: Per WIAA requirements, you must be at least 19 years of age to apply for any assistant coaching positions and 21 years of age to apply for any head coaching positions. Essential Duties and Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Three years of sport-specific playing and/or coaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary athletics program and/or related club coaching experience. Proven training and experience in the presentation of drills, safety factors, and proper application of skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Five or more years of paid high school and/or post-secondary sport-specific coaching experience and/or related club coaching experience. Completion of the National Federation Coaching Fundamentals Course to include passing the test.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

21 years of age or older Criminal background clearance First Aid and CPR certification (hands-on) Online Concussion Training (CT). A free course is available at Note: Individuals may submit an application prior to completing FA/CPR/CT Training.
