Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse position is located in Morgantown, West Virginia. This role involves providing care for patients with a variety of medical conditions in an acute care setting. The nurse will work night shifts, delivering high-quality patient care within the designated area.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association; minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the respective state; minimum of 0 years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Strong neuro experience preferred, with the ability to manage patients with complex infections and substance use histories.
• Additional Information: This unit manages patients with infections such as endocarditis, abscesses, septic arthritis, sepsis, osteomyelitis, diabetic foot infections, among others. The unit ratio varies from 1:5 to 1:6. No cardiac monitor techs are required, and nurses do not interpret strips. Orientation includes department-specific training, with 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. The charting system used is EPIC. The unit may have protocols permitting titration for certain medications, though physician orders primarily guide titration.
• Notes: This role involves working in an environment where patients may be actively using or withdrawing from substances, and may display complex behaviors. Nurses should be comfortable managing challenging or escalating situations. The charge nurse may have 2-4 patients at times.
