This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanic looking for stable hours, overtime opportunities, and the chance to expand their skills in heavy equipment maintenance.What You'll DoPerform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, cranes, and recycling equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake system issues.Repair diesel engines, drivetrains, transmissions, suspensions, wheel ends, and related components.Conduct DOT inspections and ensure equipment complies with safety and FMCSA regulations.Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics to identify and resolve equipment issues.Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication work as needed for repairs.Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to accurately identify mechanical failures.Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation.Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.Work closely with operations personnel to minimize equipment downtime.Required QualificationsExperience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or Automotive Mechanic.Knowledge of diesel engines, preventative maintenance programs, and air brake systems.Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Experience using diagnostic tools and testing equipment, including volt meters.Ability to perform physically demanding work and safely use shop equipment.Must provide personal mechanic hand tools.Preferred QualificationsWelding and fabrication experience.Experience working on heavy trucks, trailers, cranes, or industrial equipment.Familiarity with DOT inspections and FMCSA compliance requirements.Experience reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.Why Join Our Team?Stable, long-term career opportunity with a well-established operation.Work on a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, cranes, and processing equipment.Consistent overtime available, averaging 50-55 hours per week, including rotating Saturdays.Company-provided specialty and industry-specific tools.Company replacement of broken personal tools used on the job.Ongoing training and opportunities to expand your technical skills.Safety-focused culture with an experienced and supportive maintenance team.High-impact role where your work directly supports production and operations.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an active metal recycling and processing facility.
