Our client is a Sioux Falls-based commercial general contractor specializing in metal building construction across commercial, industrial, and agricultural markets.

We are seeking a senior-level construction professional to lead and strengthen the company’s estimating and preconstruction function. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage multiple bids, improve estimating processes, and personally step into estimating and quoting when workload increases.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate estimating, quoting, and bid management
• Ensure bids are accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule
• Manage multiple active bid opportunities and deadlines
• Personally prepare estimates and quotes when workload requires
• Review plans, specifications, scopes, pricing, and bid requirements
• Coordinate with ownership, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams
• Improve internal estimating and preconstruction processes
• Help evaluate opportunities in new construction markets
• Support project handoff from preconstruction into awarded work
• Provide senior-level guidance while remaining hands-on with the team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating, preconstruction, or related commercial construction experience
• Strong hands-on estimating and bid-management background
• Experience with a commercial GC, design-build contractor, industrial contractor, or similar construction company
• Strong understanding of scopes, subcontractor pricing, materials, plans, and specifications
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Comfortable leading a function while still personally producing estimates
• Strong communication, organization, and accountability
• Must be able to work on-site in Sioux Falls or be open to relocation
