Senior Database Administrator - AWS, MongoDB

Salary: $78,900 - 139,500 per year Requirements:

• We look for a bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• We require 6+ years of experience with Oracle and other database management systems in testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration across multiple platforms.
• We need strong English communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the language.
• We expect solid knowledge of database architecture and implementation, with best practices for supporting medium to large Oracle database environments.
• We require proficiency in PL/SQL programming and change management processes.
• We look for expertise in instance, database, and query tuning to improve application and database performance.
• We expect familiarity with SAN technologies related to SQL Server disk layouts, as well as Windows, Linux, and Solaris operating systems and shell scripting.
• We need the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of management and staff.
• We require strong organization, prioritization, judgment, initiative, and the ability to work under pressure.
• We look for proficiency with personal computers and common software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
• We need the ability to work independently or collaboratively to resolve issues and manage requests.
• We expect effective consulting skills with department managers and leaders.
• Preferred: 6+ years of Oracle and relational database experience, including 2+ years of hands-on cloud/NoSQL work with MongoDB, Cassandra, Amazon DocumentDB, or AWS RDS.
• Preferred: AWS Certified Database - Specialty or an equivalent cloud/NoSQL certification, such as MongoDB Certified DBA.

• We install and configure grid infrastructure, databases, clients, and related components.
• We design and maintain access controls, security administration, backup plans, and recovery strategies for database management systems.
• We support multiple medium-complexity services and databases with multiple concurrent users, ensuring data integrity, control, and availability.
• We design, implement, and maintain high-availability database solutions such as RAC, RAC One Node, and Data Guard.
• We use OEM for monitoring and diagnostics, and we identify and resolve performance issues.
• We troubleshoot alerts, job failures, disk group issues, tablespace problems, and other performance concerns.
• We perform capacity planning for Oracle server environments and recommend actions to support business growth.
• We design, implement, maintain, and document disaster recovery methodologies.
• We gather business requirements and deliver multiple projects alongside production support.
• We create standard operating procedures and templates.
• We mentor Database Administrators and Associate Database Administrators.
• We research complex business challenges and provide remediation plans.
• We assist development teams in improving database design and PL/SQL procedures and best practices.
