Mental Health Technician Location: Sparks, NV Dini Townsend Hospital Full-Time | Part-Time Pay-20.00/HR Are you passionate about mental health and looking to make a real impact? Reliable Health Care is hiring Mental Health Technicians for Dini Townsend Psychiatric Hospital in Sparks, NV.

Shifts needed: (4)

  • Friday- Tuesday 10pm-6:30am
  • Friday and Saturday 6pm-6:30am
  • Wednesday- Sunday 2:00pm- 10:30am
  • Saturday and Sunday 12pm-10:30am

Reliable Health Care Services is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support patient care within a State of Nevada behavioral health facility. This position works closely with nursing staff, mental health professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to provide direct care, supervision, and therapeutic support to individuals with mental health conditions.

The Mental Health Technician plays a key role in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, assisting with the implementation of treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision of patients at all times to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Observe and monitor patient behavior continuously, identifying changes in mental, emotional, or physical condition and promptly reporting concerns to clinical staff.
  • Respond to crisis situations using approved de-escalation techniques and assist with behavioral interventions, including restraint procedures when necessary.
  • Conduct safety and security procedures, including monitoring patient movement, performing checks, and identifying potential risks or contraband in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Document patient interactions, behavioral observations, progress notes, and incident reports in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and provide input to the interdisciplinary team based on ongoing observations.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients using appropriate communication, active listening, and professional boundaries.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care planning and coordination.
  • Assist with and monitor medication compliance as directed by nursing staff and report any observed concerns or side effects.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean, structured environment.
  • Support patients in developing life skills, including communication, socialization, and basic independent living skills.
  • Maintain compliance with all facility policies, including infection control, safety procedures, and patient rights standards.
