Network Engineer

The Network Engineering team at one of our largest Fortune 200 Energy Generation clients is actively seeking a Network Engineer to support the ongoing transformation of their hybrid-cloud infrastructure. As the organization continues to expand its Azure footprint—especially in light of a major merger—this role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions across both on‑premises and cloud environments.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure networking (VNETs, ExpressRoute, VPN
• Strong experience with Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, wireless)
• Experience with F5 Load Balancers (LTM, GTM)
• Experience or understanding of Fortinet firewalls and security appliances
• Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls a plus
• Familiarity with Cisco ISE, NDFC, and NDI is a plus.
• Cisco CCNP and/or higher level Cisco certifications preferred
• Solid understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support hybrid cloud network infrastructure with a focus on Azure.
• Collaborate with cloud architects and security teams to ensure secure and scalable network designs.
• Support integration efforts related to the ongoing merger, including Azure‑based network expansion.
• Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Manage and optimize F5 load balancers and Fortinet security appliances.
• Implement and support SD‑WAN solutions across enterprise locations.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues across cloud and on‑prem.
• Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide escalation support as needed.
• Travel occasionally domestically will be required
