Associate Attorney | Construction Litigation

Job Overview Position: Litigation Associate (Construction & Construction Defect) Salary: $115,000–$160,000 per year Schedule: Hybrid (2 remote workdays per week, except Fridays) Benefits Two remote workdays each week, except Fridays. Monthly lunch group & happy hour events; quarterly firm lunches. Paid twice a month on the 15th and last day by direct deposit. Participation in firm Bonus Program for Associates (four times a year, based on hours worked in previous 3‑month period). Firm pays all bar dues and occupation tax for attorneys. Firm pays for 15 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) per year. Eligibility for 401(k) retirement plan after 30 days with a 100% match up to 3% of salary and 50% match between 3‑5%. Comprehensive group health insurance via Blue Cross Blue Shield (dental, vision, optional HSA). $30K life insurance policy at no cost to each employee. Job Responsibilities Represent clients in construction and construction defect claims, managing cases from inception through trial or settlement. Provide risk management advice and strategic legal guidance throughout construction projects. Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents with precision and clarity. Conduct complex legal research and analysis on construction and construction defect matters. Collaborate with experts, consultants, and other professionals to develop strong case strategies. Communicate effectively with clients to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction. Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings. Mentor and support junior attorneys in research, case preparation, and trial strategy. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active membership in the Texas Bar, in good standing. 2+ years of litigation experience; prior construction or construction defect litigation experience strongly preferred. Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively within a team.
