This is a Full Time Position Monday-Friday.
Newman Regional Health is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Executive Director of Quality & Safety. This position provides executive-level leadership and oversight of the organization's quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, regulatory compliance, risk management, and infection prevention programs. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and leading initiatives that advance clinical excellence, improve patient outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for quality, patient safety, risk management, infection prevention, employee health, medical staff services, credentialing, privileging, governance, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate hospital-wide quality management and performance improvement initiatives.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics, benchmarks, and key performance indicators to drive organizational excellence.
- Lead patient safety efforts through risk identification, event investigation, corrective action planning, and the promotion of a culture of safety.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation requirements, including regulatory reporting obligations.
- Oversee hospital policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Direct quality improvement activities using data analytics, evidence-based practices, and performance improvement methodologies.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and quality performance measures, providing regular reports to leadership, governing bodies, and medical staff committees.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, department directors, and other stakeholders to advance quality and patient safety initiatives.
- Provide education and guidance regarding quality improvement principles, patient safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee quality programs governed by governmental agencies and third-party payers.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to proactively identify and mitigate operational and clinical risks.
- Analyze quality and patient safety data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new services and programs as needed.
- Participate in annual budget planning and financial oversight for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Direct, mentor, and support team members within assigned departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Quality & Compliance Officer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Experience leading quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, compliance, or related healthcare initiatives preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems and healthcare reporting tools.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable improvement strategies.
- Strong deision-making and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence organizational improvement efforts.
