About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President, Medical Affairs to spearhead the development and execution of a robust medical affairs strategy. The successful candidate will be a key scientific partner, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the advancement of the company's pipeline, with a focus on the lead candidate in clinical trials. This high-visibility leadership role demands a physician (MD) with a strong background in nephrology and/or immunology/rheumatology, and a proven track record in building medical affairs capabilities within the biopharmaceutical industry. The VP will be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and patient advocacy groups, as well as leading scientific and medical communication efforts. Compliance with industry regulations and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams is essential. Applicants for the Vice President, Medical Affairs position at the company must have an MD, with board certification and/or relevant post-graduate clinical training strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years' experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in medical affairs and/or clinical development, is required. The role calls for a candidate with a strong knowledge of the regulatory, compliance, and legal frameworks governing medical affairs activities, and excellent skills in scientific communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. Experience in nephrology, immunology, or rheumatology, particularly with a focus on rare or specialty autoimmune indications, is highly valued. The VP will also be involved in evidence generation activities, including real-world evidence and publication strategy, and must ensure the medical organization is prepared for the launch of the company's programs.
