Telemetry Technician

Location: New York, NY
Job Type: Contract

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong arrhythmia recognition skills, experience with telemetry monitoring systems, and the ability to respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes and monitoring alarms.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Active Telemetry Certification – Required.
• Current BLS Certification from AHA or Red Cross – Required.
• Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course – Required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry Technician experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong ECG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmia recognition skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Perform continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring of patients.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and identify dysrhythmias.
• Recognize and appropriately respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes.
• Initiate appropriate code/emergency procedures and document cardiac rhythms during emergencies.
• Perform 12-lead and other required electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement.
• Troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment and alarm systems.
• Communicate rhythm changes, critical findings, and other relevant information to nurses and physicians.
• Enter and verify physician orders in the electronic system as required.
• Retrieve and communicate relevant laboratory results to nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient monitoring documentation.
• Follow organizational policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.
• Safely operate telemetry and other cardiac monitoring equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
