Charge Nurse - Emergency Services, Day Shift

Job Summary:

Definition of Shared Governance: Shared governance is a professional structural model, founded on the cornerstone principles of partnership, equity, accountability, and ownership that form a culturally sensitive and empowering framework, enabling sustainable and accountability-based decisions to support an interdisciplinary design for excellent patient care.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Allocates and monitors resources to implement the unit patient care delivery model to achieve world class levels of patient satisfaction and outcomes.
2. Performs patient assessments in a systematic and organized manner to provide high quality and safe outcomes.
3. Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
4. Analyzes collected data to formulate and implement a plan of care that contributes to high quality and safe outcomes consistent with world class performance levels.
5. Evaluates the plan of care with the patient and family/support system to maintain world class levels of patient satisfaction and outcomes.
6. Assists with and/or facilitates resolution or management of customer issues/concerns/comments.
7. Contributes to a high performance work environment by seeking educational resources that enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills.
8. Apply for nursing council or committee and be vested on one council at least every 5 years. 80% attendance in person or by phone is required. Advancements in Clinical Ladder will be reflected in yearly application process and is expected for job performance standards.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

1. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education -- Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing. One year of nursing experience; specialty certification preferred.


Experience -- One year of nursing experience; specialty certification preferred.


Reports to: Nurse Manager and/or Director

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Licensure: Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
• Experience: One year of nursing experience; specialty certification preferred.
