Electrical Power Systems & Analytics Engineers

Locations: San Jose, CA | Dallas, TX | Austin, TX | Tempe, AZ | Washington DC

Our client is seeking Electrical Power Systems and Analytics Engineers to support the analysis, design evaluation, and technical performance of electrical power distribution systems across complex construction and infrastructure projects. Opportunities are available at multiple experience levels, including individual contributor and engineering team leadership positions. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include electrical system studies, protection and coordination analysis, engineering calculations, technical reporting, and oversight of specialized engineering deliverables.

Ideal candidates bring experience in electrical power systems engineering, with the technical depth and judgment to evaluate system performance, identify potential risks, and develop practical engineering solutions. Successful professionals will be comfortable working with detailed electrical system models, interpreting study results, and coordinating with engineering and construction teams. Senior-level candidates should also demonstrate the ability to review technical work, guide other engineers, and manage engineering priorities.

• Perform electrical power system studies and engineering analyses, including short-circuit calculations, protective device coordination, arc flash evaluations, and load flow studies, as applicable to the assigned position.
• Develop, review, and interpret electrical system models, technical calculations, and engineering reports to evaluate system performance and identify potential design or operational concerns.
• Analyze electrical distribution equipment, protective devices, and system configurations to support reliable operation, personnel safety, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Evaluate engineering findings and recommend technically sound solutions addressing system performance, equipment coordination, and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with design engineers, project teams, and construction personnel to communicate study results, resolve technical questions, and support engineering deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain accurate engineering documentation, technical reports, calculation packages, and supporting project records.
• Review engineering work for technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency with project requirements, with responsibilities increasing according to experience and position level.
• Lead engineering assignments, mentor technical personnel, and oversee team workloads, quality, and deliverables where the position includes supervisory or technical leadership responsibilities.

• Professional experience in electrical engineering, power systems analysis, or a closely related technical discipline, appropriate to the position's level of responsibility.
• Working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, including system components, operating characteristics, and engineering principles.
• Experience performing or supporting electrical engineering calculations, system evaluations, or technical studies relevant to the assigned position.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment information, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with electrical safety principles, applicable codes, and engineering standards relevant to power distribution systems.
• Ability to evaluate technical findings, communicate engineering recommendations, and coordinate effectively with other technical and project stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare, review, or interpret engineering calculations and technical reports with the level of independence expected for the position.
• For engineering leadership positions, demonstrated experience directing technical work, reviewing engineering deliverables, and guiding engineering personnel.

• Experience with power system analysis platforms such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or comparable engineering software.
• Specialized experience in arc flash analysis, protective device coordination, short-circuit studies, load flow analysis, or relay settings.
• Familiarity with cable ampacity analysis and specialized engineering applications such as AmpCalc or CYMCAP.
• Experience with protective relays, including SEL equipment and associated configuration or analysis software.
• Experience supporting electrical engineering activities for large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or advanced technical credentials where relevant to the specific position.
• Prior experience providing technical leadership, engineering quality oversight, or supervision of electrical engineering personnel.
