Electrical Commissioning Lead – Hyperscale Data CentersDo not pass up this chance, apply quickly if your experience and skills match what is in the following description.Location: USA – RemoteTravel: 50–70% NationwideSector: Hyperscale / Mission Critical Data CentersClient: ConfidentialWe are supporting a leading organization within the hyperscale data center sector in the appointment of an experienced Electrical Commissioning Lead to support a growing portfolio of mission critical projects across the US.This is a remote position with 50–70% travel to project sites nationwide.The successful candidate will take technical ownership of electrical commissioning activities and must have demonstrable experience delivering L1–L5 commissioning and testing within hyperscale or mission critical data center environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate electrical commissioning activities across L1–L5Manage commissioning from factory/component verification and installation checks through start-up, functional performance testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)Develop, review and execute commissioning plans, procedures and detailed test scriptsLead and witness testing of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, busway and associated critical power systemsValidate equipment installation, energization, start-up and operational readinessLead functional testing of electrical systems under normal, failure and emergency operating conditionsCoordinate L4 functional performance testing and L5 integrated systems testingVerify electrical system interactions with EPMS, BMS, controls and mechanical systemsLead testing of redundancy, failover, loss-of-utility and emergency power scenariosTroubleshoot complex electrical and controls-related issues identified during commissioningCoordinate electrical contractors, Cx providers, OEMs, vendors and project stakeholdersManage commissioning deficiencies, punch-list items and technical issues through closureMaintain accurate commissioning documentation, test records and turnover packagesSupport client witnessing, final acceptance and handoverDrive commissioning activities against aggressive hyperscale project schedules while maintaining safety and quality standardsRequired ExperienceStrong background in hyperscale, colocation or mission critical data center commissioningDemonstrable experience delivering L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5 commissioning/testingPrevious experience as an Electrical Commissioning Lead, Commissioning Manager, Senior Commissioning Engineer or Electrical SMEStrong technical knowledge of critical electrical infrastructure, including:MV/LV distributionSwitchgearTransformersUPS systemsStandby generatorsATS/STSPDUs/RPPsBuswayEPMS and associated controlsStrong understanding of electrical one-lines, schematics, sequences of operation and commissioning documentationExperience developing and executing functional performance and integrated systems test scriptsStrong understanding of redundancy and failure scenarios within mission critical environmentsAbility to lead commissioning teams and coordinate multiple contractors and OEMsStrong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skillsWillingness and ability to travel 50–70% across the United StatesThis opportunity would suit an experienced data center commissioning professional who can operate as the electrical technical lead through the complete L1–L5 commissioning lifecycle, rather than purely managing the commissioning schedule.Interested? xhyhwjd Get in touch directly for a confidential discussion regarding the client, project portfolio, compensation and wider opportunity.
