Storage Engineer

HPC Data Storage EngineerSabre is seeking an HPC Data Storage Engineer to support a mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) program dedicated to high-performance computing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing data storage systems that underpin large-scale HPC clusters and networking infrastructure. Your contributions will directly enable advanced data-intensive research efforts that are essential to national defense.Duties include but not limited to:Manage where data is storedCapacity planning and management, performance management, metrics reporting, storage quotas, policy enforcement, hardware management and tuningInterface with HPC users to identify potential performance improvement strategiesRemotely assist a counterpart located at an alternate site as neededLocation: The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Arlington, VAQualifications:Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and three or more years of job related experienceDemonstrated knowledge monitoring and administering parallel filesystems such as Lustre, BeeGFS, GPFS, etc.Experience deploying and administering data storage systems (SAN, NAS, tape archives).Demonstrated knowledge of building, configuring, and administering production Linux computer/storage systems.Practical experience scripting in Bash, Perl, Python, or similar languages.Experience deploying and managing SAN infrastructure.Working knowledge of networking concepts and practices.Knowledge of or experience with hardware and software security practices.Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT II/III and Red Hat Computing Environment (RHCSA)Clearance Requirements:This position requires an active Top Secret DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)Compensation Statement At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
