Perform specialized diagnostic nuclear imaging studies using a dual-mode scanner to produce high-quality three-dimensional images of the body.
Essential Job Functions
One year of experience performing nuclear medicine procedures under the direction of a qualified physician in a clinical nuclear medicine facility -AND- One year of experience as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) performing computed tomography procedures. Option II - PET-MRI hybrid imaging
One year of experience performing nuclear medicine procedures under the direction of a qualified physician in a clinical nuclear medicine facility -AND- One year of post registration experience* as a magnetic resonance imaging technologist. Endorsement of County Qualifications:

This examination will consist of an evaluation of training and experience based upon application information, desirable qualifications, and supplemental questionnaire, weighted 100%. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS :
Applicants who passed the assessment are placed on a register in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months. Essential Job Functions
- Performs hybrid imaging procedures, obtains, patient history, and monitors patient during procedure.
- Observes patient during procedure and reports any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel.
- Reviews all images and evaluates them for technical quality.
- Performs all required quality control procedures on equipment in accordance with departmental procedures and manufacturer's specifications. On a continuous basis, ensures equipment is functioning properly and advises supervisor of problems.
- Transfers, positions, and educates patients in preparation for procedures.
- Calculates, dispenses, and administers isotopes dosage following established departmental procedures and appropriate safety measures.
- Performs and documents wipe test and radiation monitoring to adhere to As Low as Reasonably Achievable standards.
- Performs assigned quality assurance and institutional regulatory procedures.
- Prepares radiopharmaceuticals according to manufacturer's standards.
- Performs single-mode nuclear medicine studies, as necessary.
- Injects contrast for certain hybrid imaging procedures.
- Performs research under the supervision of a nuclear medicine physician or a radiologist with nuclear medicine certification.
