Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in the ICU provides expert nursing care to critically ill patients, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes. This role involves assessing patient needs, implementing interventions, and maintaining high standards of professional practice.

Responsibilities:

• Assess the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of ICU patients.
• Develop and execute individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust care strategies accordingly.
• Document patient progress and communicate findings to interdisciplinary team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications:

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Michigan required; verification via LARA and Nursys.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of travel assignment in ICU.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; certified copies must be provided.
• Ability to float to CVICU preferred.
• Skills checklist completed within the last year, demonstrating ICU proficiency.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
