Safety Manager

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety and health initiatives within a fast-paced beef processing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company standards, supporting accident prevention efforts, leading safety training, and partnering with facility leadership to promote a safe work environment for all team members.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the facility maintains compliance with applicable safety laws, regulations, policies, and company standards.
• Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain current knowledge of safety policies, regulations, industry standards, and facility processes.
• Conduct and coordinate team member training on safety regulations, hazard recognition, safe work practices, and proper use of safety equipment.
• Evaluate employee safety programs and recommend improvements to strengthen effectiveness and compliance.
• Review plans and specifications for new machinery, equipment, or construction projects to ensure safety requirements are met.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret safety data related to occupational injuries, illnesses, incidents, and trends.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members within the Safety and Health department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment required; beef industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal safety policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in a similar safety leadership role.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced beef processing environment.
• Able to work 50+ hours per week as business needs require.
• Knowledge of cost management and OpEx tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong internal working relationships.
• Resilient, flexible, hands-on, and detail-oriented.
• Strong teaching, coaching, and team development skills.
• Strong statistical and analytical skills.
• Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, attend Company events, or represent the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

• Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
• Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
• 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
• Base salary range of $107,000-$136,000;
• Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and

The posted salary range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
