Lead Finance at the Heart of Manufacturing

Step into a pivotal leadership role where your command of standard cost in a batch-process environment guides an 80+ year manufacturing organization. As Controller, you’ll architect a high-performing accounting function, elevate financial visibility, and partner closely with executive leadership to accelerate operational excellence.

A Day in the Role

In your first weeks, you’ll get under the hood of our cost structure, streamline close activities, and align the finance roadmap with business priorities. By 90 days, you’ll have sharpened our standard costing model, bolstered internal controls, and delivered insights that shape pricing, inventory management, and margin performance.

What You’ll Drive

• Own all accounting operations: general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Direct timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare U.S. GAAP financial statements and manage the annual external audit.
• Enhance and maintain the company’s standard cost accounting system.
• Analyze results, assess trends, flag risks/opportunities, and recommend actions to leadership.
• Build and manage budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Oversee manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost containment.
• Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Advance ERP capabilities and financial reporting; champion system improvements.
• Serve as the Sales Tax Software Administrator.
• Partner with executive leadership on board reporting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team—instilling accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Production, Sales, and Executive Leadership to elevate financial performance.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant manufacturing cost accounting.
• Deep experience with standard cost in a batch manufacturing setting (strongly preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proven leadership of accounting teams and staff development.
• Strength in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
• ERP implementation/optimization experience preferred.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience is highly desirable.
• Advanced Excel (modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, reporting).
• Ability to write financial queries and reports; Power BI experience is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
