About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Teacher's Assistant to join our early childhood education team in Bloomington, IN. In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can learn and grow. You will support daily classroom operations, assist with lesson implementation, and build positive relationships with children and families in our community.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Lead Teacher in executing daily lesson plans and educational activities.
- Supervise children during classroom time, outdoor play, and field trips to ensure safety.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic classroom environment.
- Provide individual support to children during learning activities, meals, and rest times.
- Observe and document children's behavior, progress, and development to share with teachers and parents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience working with young children in a childcare or classroom setting.
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting required by Indiana state regulations.
- Physical stamina to actively engage with children, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with Indiana licensing regulations for childcare centers.
