**The last day to submit an application for this position is October 4, 2026, by 11:59pm MST. ** Department Operations & Compliance Coordinator The Department Operations & Compliance Coordinator supports event planning, day-to-day operations, regulatory and compliance responsibilities, and academic scheduling to create an exceptional experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position provides support at the Provo and Salt Lake Center offices and requires regular travel between locations. The typical schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility for events, Clery compliance, after-hours needs, last-minute changes, and emergency conditions. What you'll do in this position: • Coordinate day-to-day facility operations across multiple locations by monitoring building conditions, coordinating work orders and maintenance, supporting remodels and upgrades, and partnering with University, Church, Ensign College, and building operations stakeholders. • Plan and execute department events, including University, Church, and external-sponsored events at the BYU Salt Lake Center. Coordinate technology support, parking and building access, setup and takedown, custodial needs, signage, and other logistics. • Lead compliance, emergency preparedness, and safety responsibilities for the BYU Salt Lake Center, including Clery Act activities, incident review, emergency notifications and timely warnings, safety training, response protocols, and coordination with BYU, Church, and UTA security partners. • Manage purchasing and administrative operations by coordinating vendors, invoices, reimbursements, spend authorizations, expense reconciliation, inventory, budget needs, shared calendars, email accounts, official correspondence, and public-facing website updates. • Coordinate undergraduate and graduate academic scheduling, space utilization, faculty office hours, final exams, specialized programs, and course-planning data in collaboration with academic and department administrators. • Maintain accurate student program records, ecclesiastical endorsements, compliance documentation, records retention processes, and other operational records. Identify process improvements that strengthen student services and departmental effectiveness. What qualifies you for this role: Required • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. • Bachelor's degree. • Two years of related work experience. • Strong analytical, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, faculty, visitors, Church representatives, and University stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and build positive working relationships. • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to think strategically. • Ability to handle confidential and critical information with discretion. • Ability to identify and improve processes, make sound decisions under pressure, and respond effectively to changing operational needs. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new technologies and processes. Preferred • Master's degree. • Four years of related work experience. • Previous experience with the Clery Act. • Experience coordinating academic schedules and supporting faculty and student programs. • Knowledge of facilities management, safety and emergency preparedness, and the Clery Act. • Experience managing budgets, financial transactions, and administrative processes. • Knowledge of BYU undergraduate and graduate programs served, including Flex GE, Visiting Student, Evening and Salt Lake, Post-Bacc Prep, and Bachelor of General Studies. • Experience in higher education, with Workday, or with Tableau. Pay Grade: 49 Typical Starting Pay: $48,000 - $63,000 The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
