Medical Assistant

Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Bonus based on performance Health insurance Paid time off Job Functions: Prepares exam rooms in the clinical area for patient care daily, including stocking of all necessary supplies. Escorts patients to exam rooms, taking the required vital signs and obtaining urine specimens; performing dip and automated urinalysis and microscopic preparation and review when indicated. Assists on administrative duties as needed to ensure the clinic’s healthy flow. Protects patients’ confidentiality to ensure the clinic’s compliance with the HIPAA regulations. Adheres to bio-hazardous or “red bag” waste policy and procedure for proper disposal of medical waste. Cleans and sanitizes treatment rooms following patient examinations. Makes sure that all support documentation required for the medical visit such as labs, doctor or radiology reports are properly filed on patients’ EMR. Acts as EKG technician when is required by the physicians, immediate supervisor, or the Clinic’s Manager. Translates from English to Spanish and vice versa as needed. Required Skills: 1.Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish (required) other language a PLUS. 2.Strong Computer skills EMR experience 2 years (preferred), eCW a Plus. Vital Signs experience 2 years (preferred) Ability to foster a cooperative work environment Excellent Customer Service. Strong communications skills in English and Spanish. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE OR LICENSURE/REGISTRATION High School Diploma or equivalent Satisfactory completion of Medical Assistant program. Support documents required.
