divh2Interstate Waste Services Scale Operator/h2pThe Scale Operator will be mainly responsible for weighing in and weight out solid waste vehicles from both company drivers and third-party vendors/haulers. They will oversee receiving payments, checking loads, and always ensuring the safety of the landfill and scale./pulliServe as first point of contact for any drivers, customers, or other traffic at the scale house/liliAccurately calculate and process payments, weights and other measurements/liliVerify incoming loads do not contain any unnecessary or inappropriate material/liliVarious administrative tasks including regular filing, data entry and reporting/liliProvide general upkeep of the scale house/li/ulpAdditional duties as assigned/ppThis Scale Operator will be based out of our Amsterdam, Ohio Landfill location. This shift will be an overnight position with 3 days on 4 days off, 4 days on 3 days off schedule. Required to use motor coordination such as typing, machine operating, etc. throughout the greater part of the workday. Daily exposure to physical environment including odors, loud noises, weather elements, etc./ph2Requirements and Qualifications:/h2ulliApplicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States./liliHigh school/GED education completed; higher education is a plus./liliMinimum 2 years of warehouse environment experience./liliExperience from the sanitation industry is strongly preferred./liliExperience working with scales is strongly preferred./liliWorking knowledge of general computer skills./liliKnowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment/liliConsistently capable of working independently to safely analyze and resolve problems./liliFluency in English required, Spanish bilingual is a plus./li/ulh2Additional Information/h2pThis job description is intended to be an accurate representation of the general functions of the job, rather than exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or experience.
