Job Description
Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Occupational Therapy Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of practice
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting preferred
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills Roles & Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist to improve residents' abilities in activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, and psychosocial functioning.
- Assist with resident evaluations and document functional status and progress toward goals.
- Deliver direct therapy services in a compassionate, safe, and effective manner.
- Monitor and document residents' responses to interventions and report concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate relevant updates on residents.
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and safety techniques to promote independence.
