Video Project: RISE Nonprofit (East Palo Alto) Overview & Background RISE in East Palo Alto is a community-invested nonprofit dedicated to uplifting our local youth and families through comprehensive programming. We are looking for a videographer to come out and help us capture the energy of our final "Summer Splash / Family Fun Day" on July 29th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. A unique and beautiful aspect of our organization is our pipeline: many of our current staff members were once students in the RISE program themselves. The footage we capture on this day will be pivotal for showing that full-circle impact in our donations. Because 88% of our funding goes directly back into our community programming, our production budget is exceptionally tight. We are looking for someone willing to work at a discounted nonprofit or micro-budget rate. We are also incredibly flexible on the workflow: we would love to find someone to shoot and edit, but we are just as happy to pay a flat rate for someone to simply come shoot the event for four hours and hand off the raw footage for us to deal with later. Creative Treatment We are hoping to gather enough footage to put together two short, 3-minute videos. We don’t need anything overly produced or complicated – just good energy, clear audio for the speaking parts, and a natural, documentary style. Video 1: The "Donation Letter" This video will live on our donation page as a direct fundraising appeal. We just need a simple setup at the event where our Executive Director talks directly to the camera about the RISE mission and the impact of our programming. We’ll mix this speaking part with footage of the events so donors can see the real-time results of their funding. Video 2: "Full Circle" Staff Spotlight This video is all about our culture and the fact that so many of our staff grew up in the program. This one will be much more fun and casual. It won’t rely on formal interviews; instead, we just want to capture lots of moving footage of our staff laughing, playing games with the kids, and handing out materials. We might try to grab a few quick, spontaneous comments from the staff about why they came back to work for RISE, but mostly we just want to capture the joy of the day. #J-18808-Ljbffr Bay Area Video Coalition, Inc.
