Position Details Department: 11926 Non Enterprise Corporate - Public Safety Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours per Week: 40 Pay Range: $25.30 - $37.95 per hour Sign-on Bonus: $5,000 for qualified applicants Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina Job Summary Performs protective, law enforcement and security services to safeguard patients, visitors, teammates, and property. Investigates criminal acts on hospital grounds, makes arrests, protects life and property, patrols buildings and grounds, and prevents theft and vandalism. Acts as first responder to any imminent threat. Responsibilities Appropriately intervene with unruly, abusive, combative, threatening or armed persons. Apprehend and arrest individuals for criminal activity. Conduct investigations of criminal activity within assigned jurisdiction, make arrests and process defendants per NC criminal procedures. Respond to routine and emergency calls; complete incident reports and documentation. Communicate calmly, factually, objectively, and courteously with all parties; coordinate with community police agencies as needed. Provide armed response to any threat on Atrium Health property. Support teammates and serve as subject matter expert in criminal process. Prepare cases for court, attend proceedings and testify. Qualifications Basic law enforcement training required. General law enforcement certification per North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards, or ability to transfer certification from another jurisdiction.
