Part-Time Pharmacist

River's Edge Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacist to support safe, effective medication use in our community-owned critical access hospital in St. Peter, Minnesota. In this role, you will verify and dispense medications, review orders for appropriateness, and provide clear counseling to patients and families. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and therapists to optimize therapy, support medication reconciliation, and uphold quality and safety standards. This position offers the opportunity to practice across inpatient and outpatient settings while contributing to a patient-centered, team-based culture. Responsibilities Dispense medications accurately and safely in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness, dosing, interactions, and allergies Provide patient counseling on prescriptions, side effects, and proper medication use Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize pharmacotherapy and patient outcomes Monitor medication therapies and recommend adjustments based on lab results and clinical status Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and hospital policies Oversee medication storage, handling, and inventory management, including controlled substances Participate in medication safety initiatives, quality improvement, and antimicrobial stewardship efforts Document all clinical interventions, verifications, and patient interactions in the electronic health record Support staff education on medication-related topics and contribute to interprofessional team meetings Required Skills Medication dispensing and verification Clinical pharmacotherapy knowledge Drug interaction and allergy screening Patient counseling and education Electronic Health Record (EHR) and CPOE use Sterile and non-sterile compounding basics Medication safety and regulatory compliance Inventory and controlled substances management Interdisciplinary team collaboration Dose calculations and renal/hepatic dose adjustment #J-18808-Ljbffr
