The Commission was also given the task of managing the Soldiers & Sailors Monument. Today the Commission is responsible for the Indiana War Memorial, the Soldiers & Sailors Monument, Veterans Memorial Plaza, American Legion Mall with the World War II, Korea and Vietnam Memorials, University Park, the USS Indianapolis National Memorial, the Medal of Honor Memorial, and the 9/11 Memorial.Role Overview: This stores clerk role will process guest ticket sales at the museum entrance. Additionally, the stores clerk will process gift shop purchases and assist in managing gift shop inventories. The position reports to the Director of Administration and will assist with other operations tasks as necessary. Required work schedules will be Wednesday through Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. Pay Rate: This position pays an hourly rate of $15.17.A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:Authorize the accuracy of all orders received in the storeroom and authorize all goods received.Contact vendors regarding partial shipments and/or misorders.Maintain detailed inventory records and records of items ordered.Evaluate and recognize record-keeping or storage procedures as necessary.Ensure proper storage procedures and rotation of stock for perishable items.Make recommendations on purchase of new equipment for warehouse and maintenance required in building.Oversee and assembles equipment received in "knocked down" condition.What You'll Need for Success: Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:Thorough knowledge of requisitioning and disbursing procedures, consumption rates of stored items and inventory control procedures.Thorough knowledge of stock items, their locations and the proper methods of storing a variety of goods and supplies based upon efficient space utilization and a variety of state and federal regulations.Effective communication skills.Practical knowledge of state regulations in handling and storing foodstuffs and perishables.Ability to train inmates and staff in proper operation of all equipment and proper methods of storage.Ability to maintain detailed, accurate inventory and purchasing records.Ability to operate forklift, hand-truck and other mechanical equipment in warehouse.Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana: The State of Indiana offers a comprehensive benefit package for part-time employees which includes:Paid vacation, personal and sick time offCompetitive leave policies covering a variety of employee needs12 company paid holidays, 14 on election years75 hours of paid New Parent Leave and up to eight weeks of paid Childbirth Recovery Leave for eligible mothers.Free ParkingFree LinkedIn LearningEqual Employment Opportunity: The State of Indiana is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to recruiting, selecting, developing, and promoting employees based on individual ability and job performance.
