EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities Reviewprojectplans,specifications,addenda,schedules,andotherbiddocumentstodeterminethecompleteelectricalscopeofwork. Preparedetailedmaterialandlabortakeoffsforcommercialandindustrialelectricalprojects. Developestimatesforlighting,powerdistribution,switchgear,generators,firealarm,low-voltagesystems,siteelectricalwork,undergroundinfrastructure,andrelatedelectricalsystems. Analyzelaborrequirements,materialcosts,equipmentneeds,subcontractorpricing,projectschedules,andsiteconditions. Solicit,review,andcompareproposalsfromvendorsandsubcontractors. Identifyexclusions,clarifications,alternates,allowances,value-engineeringopportunities,andpotentialprojectrisks. Preparecompleteandprofessionalbidproposals,scopeletters,andsupportingdocumentation. Attendpre-bidmeetings,sitevisits,bidreviews,andprojectplanningmeetings. Coordinatewithcompanyleadershiptodetermineprojectapproach,staffingrequirements,overhead,fee,andbidstrategy. Maintainrelationshipswithgeneralcontractors,vendors,suppliers,subcontractors,engineers,andotherindustrypartners. Trackbidresultsandanalyzeestimatedcostscomparedwithactualprojectperformance. Participateintheturnoverofawardedprojectsfromestimatingtoprojectmanagementandfieldoperations. Clearlycommunicateprojectscope,assumptions,risks,andkeycostconsiderationsduringprojecthandoffmeetings. Assistprojectmanagerswithchange-orderestimatesandcostevaluationsasneeded. Maintainorganizedandcompleteestimatingfiles,pricinginformation,historicalcostdata,andbidrecords. Helpdevelopandmaintainestimatingtemplates,laborunits,costdatabases,bidprocedures,andquality-controlstandards. Monitormarketconditions,laborrates,materialpricing,supply-chainconcerns,andindustrytrendsthatmayaffectprojectcosts. Reviewtheworkofotherestimatorsandprovideguidance,training,andmentorship. RequiredQualifications Minimumof5yearsofelectricalconstructionestimating,projectmanagement,orrelatedexperience. Strongknowledgeofcommercialandindustrialelectricalconstructionmethods,materials,laborrequirements,andsequencing. Abilitytoreadandinterpretelectricaldrawings,specifications,one-linediagrams,schedules,contracts,andtechnicaldocuments. ThoroughunderstandingoftheNationalElectricalCodeandapplicableconstructionstandards. Experiencecompletingdetailedelectricaltakeoffsandpreparingmultimillion-dollarprojectestimates. Strongknowledgeofelectricalsystems,includinglighting,powerdistribution,switchgear,emergencypower,firealarm,low-voltagesystems,andundergroundelectricalwork. Proficiencywithelectricalestimatingsoftware,digitaltakeoffprograms,MicrosoftExcel,andotherstandardbusinessapplications. Abilitytomanagemultipleestimates,deadlines,andcompetingpriorities. Strongmathematical,analytical,problem-solving,anddecision-makingskills. Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills.
