Job Description
Title
Registered Nurse - Preop/PACU

Requirements
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing required.
- Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned ASC services pediatrics.
- Minimum one-year licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU for core positions (i.e., ICU, ED).
- Licensed RN with no experience in PreOp/PACU must be enrolled in Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months.
- New licensed RN enrolled in the Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months preferred.
- Minimum two years licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU for PRN positions preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient's physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and post-operative planning needs.
- Formulate a plan of care based on assessment data and input from the patient, family, and health team.
- Implement the plan of care through direct patient care and coordination with the health care team.
- Evaluate the patient's response to care and revise the plan as necessary.
- Document all aspects of nursing care in the patient record according to policy.
- Participate in educational activities, precepting, and mentoring of staff and students.

Compliance / Notes
- Must perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
- Provide an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.
