Installation Supervisor-Fire Alarm

What you will do A Johnson Controls Fire Installation Department Supervisor is a self‑motivated and driven individual with superior relationship‑building skills who leads the successful execution of all Installation projects. The role coordinates people and materials for prompt completion of Electronic Projects while providing guidance to a field team and ensuring customer and company financial obligations are met. Field Installation Responsibilities Install, service, and program installation project equipment per design and specifications. Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris. Contact customers prior to scheduled installations to verify timing. Test operation of installed systems to ensure proper functionality and obtain approval from the local AHJ. Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required. Work with Project Coordinators to coordinate project installation with customers and contractors. Coach and mentor less experienced installers. Plan, schedule, supervise, and control installations. Partner with the sales organization during the pre‑bid process to ensure accuracy of upcoming projects. Manage field resources to align with current and future project needs and customer obligations (Electrical and Sprinkler). Business Responsibilities Implement plans, programs, and processes designed to meet and exceed corporate goals and objectives of the Installation business, including revenue and profitability. Maintain effective customer communications, build solid relationships, ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled, and resolve complaints quickly to minimize concerns and enhance relations. Set fair and effective performance measurements that motivate technicians to achieve and/or exceed assigned goals. Ensure all employees comply with corporate safety programs, complete safety training, perform accident investigations, and conduct monthly job‑site inspections as required by EHS policies. Provide 24/7 on‑call services for customer issues, routing, and after‑hours technical support. Manage daily operation of all fleet vehicles used in the Installation department. Use independent judgment to provide day‑to‑day direction to the work crew. What we look for Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business or Engineering, or equivalent industry field experience. Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in a Fire Alarm installation environment. Demonstrated supervisory/leadership abilities, including training, team building, presentation, negotiation skills, district administration, and effective interaction with internal and external customers. NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems. Preferred: 7+ years’ field experience. 5 years in fire alarm audio programming. 1 year management experience. Knowledge of other low‑voltage systems. Simplex 4100(ES) certification. Simplex network certification. Salary Range $86,100 to $110,000 per year, plus a competitive bonus plan and benefits package.
