Maintenance Technician Team Lead

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, St. Patrick Center, is seeking a Facilities Team Lead serve as the senior technical resource for assigned facilities and ministries. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position coordinates facility projects, supports preventive maintenance programs, conducts building assessments, assists with regulatory compliance activities, and helps ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well maintained. The Lead will participate in an on-call rotation schedule. This is a working lead position with no direct reports and no responsibility for hiring, discipline, evaluations, scheduling, or personnel management.provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the Facilities Maintenance team under the guidance of the Facilities Manager. This role is responsible for assigning and coordinating work, monitoring workflow, and ensuring maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to standard. The Team Lead supports budget planning, evaluates work outcomes, and assists with employee performance reviews. Additionally, the role includes making recommendations on personnel matters such as hiring, promotions, discipline, and terminations. The position may also perform complex maintenance duties and contributes to overall facility operations and upkeep within the assigned area. Core working hours are Monday through Friday 8am until 4:30pm. Overview and Responsibilities Coordinate assigned facility projects and maintenance activities. Support preventive maintenance programs and monitor completion of scheduled tasks. Conduct facility assessments and identify maintenance, safety, and compliance concerns. Assist with Joint Commission, Physical Environment, Life Safety, OSHA, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Review work orders and assist with prioritization of maintenance activities. Coordinate service activities with vendors and contractors as assigned. Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, inventories, and related documentation. Assist with emergency preparedness, weather response, and facility recovery activities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Facilities Technicians. Participate in on-call rotations as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certification preferred. Three to five years of facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and building systems. Experience working with vendors and contractors preferred. Valid driver’s license required (MO residents require a Class E). Skills and Competencies Required Demonstrates the ability to correctly identify, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance systems with minimal rework required. Accurately identifies root causes of maintenance issues and resolves them within expected timeframes, escalating only when appropriate. Reads technical documents accurately and interprets blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical instructions to complete tasks without errors or safety risks. Prioritizes work orders, manages time effectively, and completes assigned tasks by deadlines while maintaining accurate documentation. Enter work orders, updates maintenance records, and uses Microsoft Office and CMMS tools accurately and consistently. Provides clear written updates, completes documentation without omissions, and communicates effectively with staff, vendors, and supervisors. Complies with assigned tasks without direct supervision, contributes to team goals, and collaborates effectively during multi‑person projects or emergency responses.
