Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This contract opportunity offers a rewarding role working 32.5 hours per week (8:00 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday). Flexible start options are available-begin as soon as possible or plan ahead for August 2026.


Key Qualifications:

• Current certification in Orientation and Mobility for the state of Pennsylvania
• Proven experience as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist
• Strong understanding of working within school environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for empowering individuals with visual impairments to achieve independence

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in orientation and mobility techniques to students ages 3-21
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and design customized lesson plans
• Support IEP (Individualized Education Program) development and attend school meetings as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure holistic student support
• Document progress and maintain accurate records for each student
• Promote a safe and encouraging learning environment
