Hourly Pay Range $36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights Position: Registered Nurse - Pulmonary Medicine Unit - higher acuity patient population Location: Elmhurst, IL Part-Time: 24hr a week Hours: 7pm-7am with every 3rd weekend and holiday track Responsibilities Develop a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes, systematically revise diagnosis, interventions, and expected outcomes as needed. Provide patient assessment and collect health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. Communicate plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting patient wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicate patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Document patient health data, interventions and communications. Individualize patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assess patient cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modify teaching plan accordingly. Provide teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identify community resources to support patient self-management of disease. Interact with and contribute to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Share knowledge, provide feedback and contribute to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assign or delegate tasks as needed. Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, oxygen therapy, and IV management Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keep abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Support staff in using research and providing evidence-based care If skilled, conduct daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Monitor effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care Comply with HIPAA regulations. Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
