Registered Nurse Wound Care

Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Wound Care professional to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in San Antonio. In this role, you will provide specialized, evidence‑based wound care to a diverse adult patient population across inpatient units and outpatient settings, managing acute and chronic wounds, surgical sites, pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, and Ostomy care. You will perform thorough wound assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and bedside nurses to optimize healing outcomes, prevent complications, and reduce hospital readmissions. The Registered Nurse Wound Care will serve as a clinical resource and educator, providing bedside teaching, staff in‑services, and patient and family education on wound prevention, skin integrity, nutrition, and home care. You will accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic health record, track healing progress, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice projects focused on skin and wound care. Responsibilities also include participating in interdisciplinary rounds, assisting in the development and implementation of hospital wound care protocols, and promoting best practices in infection prevention and patient safety.
