Field Applications Engineer (TEM)

Field Applications Engineer supporting semiconductor companies in the integration of transmission electron microscopy technology into their development and production workflows. The role combines on-site technical support in Oregon with cross-functional collaboration to enable customer success and drive product innovation.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support primarily based in Hillsboro, Oregon
- Develop innovative solutions addressing customer technical challenges and process integration needs
- Support tool acceptance and new technology deployment at customer locations in coordination with internal teams
- Serve as technical partner to customers, building relationships and assisting with application development
- Provide detailed technical feedback to product and engineering teams on customer needs and field performance
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Transmission Electron Microscopy equipment and applications
- Expert understanding of semiconductor processing, statistical process control, device physics, and failure analysis
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with customers
- Strong problem-analysis and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%; valid passport required
- Experience with coding or scripting languages such as C#, Python, or MATLAB is advantageous
