Transplant Institute Medical Director, AdventHealth, Orlando, Florida Overview AdventHealth Transplant Institute (AHTI) is seeking a dynamic Medical Director to lead our thriving transplant program within the AdventHealth healthcare system (50 hospitals in nine states including 30 in Florida). This role will ensure exceptional patient care delivery, create a culture of collaboration and collegiality, and assist with growth through various organs serviced through the AHTI Program. The position also provides support and leadership for both physician and administrative leaders within the Program. The medical director serves as the physician lead and representative for the Transplant Institute within the AH Orlando campus, the Institutes, and the AH Medical Group, in partnership with the Vice President, AHTI. Practice Description AdventHealth Transplant Institute's (AHTI) Multi‑Organ Abdominal Transplant team performs (70) adult and pediatric liver transplants, (160) adult and pediatric kidney transplants, and (10) pancreas transplants yearly. Our team of surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists combine their expertise to provide seamless integrated patient care. AHTI and AdventHealth Cardiovascular Institute rank among the top in the United States. We are the #1 program in Florida for heart transplant volume and are one of the busiest centers of this kind in the nation. AdventHealth Orlando’s Ginsburg Tower is a 15‑story patient tower with 440 patient beds. The Cardiovascular Institute includes 12 multi‑functional procedure suites equipped to perform: Cardiac surgeries (over 1,200 annually) Vascular surgeries (over 2,200 annually) Diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures (approximately 5,000 annually) Interventional cardiac catheterization procedures (over 2,500 annually) Practice Setting The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is located at AdventHealth Orlando, just north of downtown Orlando. Liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants are already performed, and the heart and lung program started in 2012.
