ABOUT FKO:For Kids Only Afterschool (FKO) is a non-profit, out-of-school time provider based in 18 locations throughout five cities. With a mission to support the holistic needs of children, FKO fully believes learning extends well beyond the classroom, and OST Educators are a key component to building life-long learning skills.Job Summary:The One to One aide is assigned exclusively to one child for a specified period of time. The aide is to work with the child who needs specific attention. A one-to-one aide can provide support to a child in many ways.Hours: School year - 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 2:00pm - 6:00pmDuties/Responsibilities:Coordinates and maintains individual help and assistance to a child with special needs within an after-school program environmentProvides reinforcement to individual of direct material initially taught by the after-school educatorsMaintains or modifies the child’s curriculum and enrichment activities to the needs of the childResponsible for dealing with and following any behavior plansCommunicates daily with various groups of people outside the program including parents/ guardians, school day teachers, special education department and other team members working with the childMaintains a daily activity log on progressAttends parent/educator conferences as requiredPerforms other duties as may be necessary and assigned by the classroom teacher and/or administratorEducation and Experience:Must be 18 years oldRequires knowledge of classroom environment, special education environment, safety issues and needs of special education studentsMust have oral and written communication skills and basic computer skillsAny special education software knowledge desiredAny equivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredPhysical Requirements:Requires standing for long periods of time, as well as stooping, squatting, and runningProlonged periods of sitting at a desk #J-18808-Ljbffr FKO Afterschool
