We invite you to become part of our family and contribute to our ongoing success.Summary of Essential DutiesThe Aircraft APU Technician is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and functional testing of Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) installed on Contour’s fleet (ERJ 135/140/145 and CRJ 200). This role supports component-level repair activities in a Part 145 repair station environment and ensures all work is performed in accordance with FAA regulations, approved technical data, and company quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform APU inspection, disassembly, repair, assembly, and functional testing on ERJ and CRJ APUsTroubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and fuel system discrepanciesInterpret and apply CMMs, AMMs, IPCs, SBs, ADs, and engineering dataPerform component-level repairs including starters, generators, fuel controls, gearboxes, and accessoriesConduct borescope inspections and dimensional checksComplete detailed maintenance records and work orders in compliance with FAA Part 145 requirementsSupport APU test cell operations, including pre-test setup, monitoring, and post-test evaluationIdentify unserviceable components and recommend corrective actionsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentComply with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.Perform other duties has assigned by leadership.Physical RequirementsFrequent stooping, bending, and kneeling.Ability to stand on feet for extended periods.Lift and carry objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally (with assistance).Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, and/or ladders of varying heights without assistance.Ability to work in cramped spaces and awkward positions as required.Tolerance to noise, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions.Ability to wear protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.Work EnvironmentAirport ramp/warehouse environment subject to varying weather conditions.Regular exposure to aircraft noise and vibrations when testing engines.Fast-paced operational setting requires attention to safety, accuracy, and timeliness.Must be at least 23 years of age.FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification.Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.High school diploma or GED certification preferred.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, including Office 365, Excel, Outlook, and Word; familiarity with similar software applications is also required.Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-focused attitude.Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.Ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.Skilled in coordinating multiple priorities, managing deadlines, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Ability to handle interruptions and changing priorities with flexibility and a strong attention to detail.Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with professionalism and tact.Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company-mandated random drug and alcohol testing.Ability to pass a 10-year work history background check, as well as criminal history and fingerprint checks, as required by the TSA.Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.Minimum of 3 to 5 years of aircraft APU maintenance experience, preferably on the ERJ 135/140/145 and/or CRJ 200 aircraft.Strong working knowledge of regional jet APUs and associated systems.Able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and engineering drawings.Proficient with precision measuring tools and test equipment.Experience working in an FAA-certified Part 145 Repair Station environment.Must adhere to all safety regulations and work in a professional manner, complying with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulatory requirements.Disclaimer: The above statements are intended only to describe the general nature and level of work required for the referenced position; they are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of individuals in the position.
