The Healthcare Economics Consultant partners with Finance, Operations, and Clinical leadership to deliver actionable financial and operational insights. This role develops advanced analyses, forecasting models, and automated reporting solutions to support strategic decision-making, healthcare economics initiatives, and organizational performance. The consultant serves as a trusted advisor by translating complex healthcare and financial data into meaningful business recommendations.This position is hybrid in San Antonio, TX - with flexibility to come onsite any 3 days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Research, retrieve, design, troubleshoot, and deliver organized analytics regarding healthcare, capitation, accounts receivable, utilization data, claims data and financial accounting dataServes as a subject matter expert in healthcare economics, capitation, medical claims, utilization, revenue performance, and financial data analysisSynthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for operational and executive leadershipAnalyzes and extracts data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to report to internal and external customersServes as a key resource to Finance teams by providing analytical support and technical expertiseDesigns, develops, tests, documents and database queries for ad hoc reporting used in complex conceptual analysesDevelops systematic reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting to managementRecommends and implements new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of informationAnalyze benchmarking data, reports, processes, and measurements for key managed care indicators to recognize trends and assist in developing forecasts and financial planningCollaborates with Finance, Operations, Clinical, IT, and Business Intelligence teams to identify opportunities for performance improvement and process optimizationDevelop innovative approaches to achieve deliverables and increase efficiencyProvides informal leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to analysts and cross-functional project teamsPerforms all other related duties as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required (4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)5+ years of general healthcare accounting, finance, or operations experience2+ years of experience in reporting and analytical roleUnderstanding of the complexity of Member healthcare accounting, claims and revenueProficiency in SQL and Microsoft ExcelPreferred Qualifications:5+ years of reporting and analytic experience3+ years of experience in a managed care environmentExperience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or similar) Experience working with enterprise data warehouses, large healthcare datasets, and automated reporting solutionsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
