Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing quality nursing care to all patients in a Long-Term Care facility. The LPN will serve as an active member of the nursing staff, utilizing their scope of practice while ensuring respect for patient rights and dignity. The actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the assigned area within the facility.Shift InformationDaysQualificationsMinimum Education: Graduate from an accredited school for LPNs or LVNs.Minimum Experience: 2 years preferred; new graduates accepted.Licensing/Certification: Must be licensed in good standing as an LPN in the State of Alaska. Current CPR certification (BCLS) required. Current BLS certification is mandatory. IV certification course is also required.Certifications/RequirementsGeneral Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP, ATTNursing Certifications: CPI, ENPC, RNFA, TNCC, AWHONN, STABLE, ASLS, NBSTSA, APHON, CMA, CCMA, RMA, C-EFMSpecialized Knowledge and SkillsLanguage Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence. Capable of effective communication with physicians and other medical staff, functioning as part of a collaborative team.Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Competent in computing rates, ratios, and percentages as well as interpreting bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Skill in solving practical problems and addressing a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
