Project Accountant

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Project Accountant in Dallas, TX to maintain financial records and support the fiscal health of mechanical construction projects.

Impact
- Ensures financial accuracy across accounts payable and receivable.
- Improves project profitability through detailed cost accounting and reconciliation.
- Streamlines the month-end close process to provide leadership with timely data.
- Maintains compliance with industry standards and accounting principles.

Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
- Oversee credit card transaction recording and monthly reconciliations.
- Coordinate with the Controller to complete the month-end close process.
- Review the general ledger to identify and fix miscoded entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements monthly.
- Prepare and post necessary journal entries to the accounting system.
- Analyze outstanding bank items and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform cost accounting duties to track project-specific spending.
- Support the Controller in preparing for independent financial audits.
