Job Title – Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location – 1350 Walton Way, Augusta, Georgia 30901, United States
Duration – 12 Weeks (06/08/2026 onward)
Shift – Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (07:00 PM – 07:00 AM)

Block Scheduling – No
Weekend Coverage – Every Other Weekend
Float – Yes (within facility/scope of practice as needed, low census)
Call Requirement – Not specified

Job Description
Registered Nurse – PCU responsible for providing intermediate-level care for adult and geriatric patients requiring close monitoring but not intensive care. The RN will manage a fast-paced patient population including dysrhythmias, CHF, stroke symptoms (non-TPA), acute coronary syndrome, and myocardial ischemia.

This is a high-throughput, telemetry-monitored unit focused on efficient patient flow and safe, patient-centered care. All patients are on hardwire telemetry and are continuously monitored by the RN.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills / Experience
Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown/IMC experience required
Experience managing patient ratio of 1:4 required
Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required
Experience with CHF, ACS, MI, and stroke symptom management required
Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy required
Experience with central and peripheral line care required
Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) required
Experience with isolation precautions and PPE compliance required
Experience with respiratory support (non-invasive airway management) required
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
Strong teamwork and fast-paced clinical decision-making required

Certifications
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
